Opaline Muse – Limited Edition Fine Art Print SOLD OUT
Captured in June 2025, Opaline Muse tells the quiet story of a bumblebee pausing to recover after a gentle summer rain shower. Resting amongst the delicate flower spikes of Russian sage, the bee remained unusually still, patiently drying its rain-soaked wings and the fine velvet hairs that would soon carry it back into flight. It was a rare and precious opportunity to observe these tireless pollinators at rest, revealing a calmer, more intimate side of their character that is seldom witnessed.
Soft white blossoms and silvery foliage melt into an opalescent backdrop, their muted tones echoing the stillness that followed the rain. The Russian sage had been planted earlier that year with the hope of creating a haven for bees, and moments such as this were the reward. As warmth gradually returned to the evening air, the bee prepared to continue its endless search for nectar, a quiet reminder that even nature’s busiest creatures occasionally need to pause. This artwork celebrates not only the beauty of the bumblebee, but the grace found in those fleeting moments of rest between journeys.
