Captured in our North Wales garden in July 2025, On Amethyst Wings is a celebration of summer’s gentle hum. Designed to welcome wildlife, the garden becomes a living symphony, lavender beds shimmering in the light, drawing bees in endless motion. I often sit and listen to their rhythm, the soft energy of wings gathering nectar among the blooms. This small white‑tailed bumblebee, poised upon lavender and apricot salvias, embodies that harmony. The challenge was to freeze the fleeting moment while preserving the delicate palette, the amethyst hues of the flowers blending with the golden tones of the bee. I feel it shows a portrait of devotion and balance, a glimpse into nature’s quiet artistry.
